History of KRs (Knowledge Refreshers) (launched on 31 Dec 2005)
Introduction
Welcome to the online archive of Knowledge Refreshers (KR). This is based on the KR mails which were (and are) being sent to mainframes programmers thrice a week.
History: It all began in May 2004 with 5 people in the mailing list. The idea was to concentrate on some basic fundamentals in mainframes and also to link theory with reality. The '5' has grown to over 100 now (and still expanding). This website was created because there was a lot of demand for the old editions of KRs. Hopefully we'll soon be able to reach out internationally through this website.
Topics: The KRs mainly focus on mainframe issues (COBOL, DB2, JCL) along with other topics like networking and financial management.
Contributions: Suggestions, contributions and ideas for KRs always welcome. The contributor will be credited for their work.
It takes time: We've already had over 190 editions and it will take time to archive all of them on the net; so keep visiting this page regularly.
Format of website: Comments and suggestions to improve the layout are welcome. As the archive grows bigger we'll need to think of better ways to present them.
